November is in the books. What was your favorite read?

from Bill_Montgomery on 12/01/2022 10:29 PM

Stoner by John Williams. I posted a review on Litsy. Which I can't get to right now because my phone is going through another update. <Sigh>. I don't have a phone. I have a Google Pixel download client.

Enough!

from Bill_Montgomery on 12/01/2022 09:37 PM

This was posted on the Bowling Park FB page. I've sat through a few lunchtimes warning latecomers off because 11:00-12:00 is our downtime, clearly posted and unchanged for years (I'm told). We're the volunteers who make the commodities pickup possible. Some people are very grateful and say so. But sometimes the sense of entitlement is staggering. The post:

"Enough!! The volunteers have no control whether you must wait in line longer to get your commodities and senior boxes because signatures are required. I will no longer tolerate disrespectful behavior and I can/will issue no trespassing letters. Many of the volunteers were here before 7:00AM in the cold to get ready for the day and to be treated in such a manner is absolutely disgusting. They are entitled to a break for lunch from 11:00 to 12:00. If you think this applies to you, it probably does."

Need help with the Medicare Savings Program?

from Bill_Montgomery on 12/01/2022 08:38 PM

The Holiday Season brings thoughts of family, friends, gifts and good cheer. But for some, it can also be a stressful time filled with worries about the ongoing costs of their monthly bills on top of all the extras this month. For people with Medicare, there may be a program that can help.
There are several Medicare related programs for beneficiaries who have limited income and assets. The Medicare Savings Program can help qualified individuals by paying their Part B premium for them. That alone can help save them around $170 a month. Another program, known as "Extra Help", assists qualified individuals with their prescription drug costs, like premiums, deductibles and copays. Enrollment in a Medicare Savings Program will automatically qualify you for Extra Help!
The BRADD office is here to assist you with filling out these applications, give us a call today at (270) 306-4105.
